I so love the security codes. You've got to wonder what sort of things have happened in the past that they'd need one for exiled royalty detonating an axolotl (or turtle, for that matter).
Okay, I just read Void Dogs all the way through for the first time! I started one other time, but at that point it was all white-on-black text and I just couldn't read it. Literally.
So I'm really enjoying it, but since it doesn't update as often I'll probably wait a while before reading any more, so that I'll have several to read through - since they are shorter than the ToMU that I'm used to. (Or at least it feels shorter.)
Really loving the characters, and it's an interesting world of space-age magic and technology... It's wierd now to read about science and magic working together, after ToMU!
I have to say it is slightly reminiscent of "Firefly" - the humor, the mixed bag of characters, and the fact that it's an independent trader ship just trying to survive. (The only other space series I have any experience with is Star Trek, which always involves Official Federation Starships On A Mission.)
Yeah, Void Dogs actually grew out of a roleplaying campaign my friends and I had half-formed around the time Firefly was huge. Even the ship's name is a reference to Firefly, coming out of a joke that every ship should be named after a failed uprising.

Re: typhoon
"avaricious, greedy, and greedy"Either that's intentional, or it isn't, I leave it as an exercise for the author.
