The bracelet might not be messing with Jamie when he's human. Some people enjoy role-play as a mount or pet, and Jamie also has all the positive reinforcement that the bracelet gives him when Iason transforms and rides him. One can develop a mental addiction or fixation on any gratifying stimulus, and Jamie seems to be as susceptible as anyone - those three cure addictions didn't stop him from smoking.
We shall have to observe the behaviour of the subject closely, and see what stimuli our experimental iacolope encounters next. >8=)>
Just read the last two chaps - so now both stories are explicitly about BDSM-style relationships. AE, do you just hate tops or something? I've yet to see a good, healthy example of a top O.o
Good point. I dunno, Jamie seems to have a reasonably healthy perspective on the whole thing, soft spot for Iason aside -- it's just, the more I read, the more Amy and Iason both piss me off, and I'm not even going to get into Viktor.
Something I just noticed and which may lead to more screwed-up-ness in Jamie's sexuality in the future. So far we've seen Jaime in sexual situations where he was either giving to someone else (usually Iason), or someone else was taking (again, also Iason). In his fantasies in this story he rebels against the subbish role he feels he's been forced into by taking, and taking, and taking.. but it doesn't satisfy.
It would be all too easy, we see hints of it here, for Jaime to assume this is just how things are for himself and just go whole hog trying to hammer his square peg into the stag's round hole rather than waiting and seeing what it would be like if someone else were to Give to Him for a change.
Or it could be the bracelet. I don't think there will be a whole lot about it in the MUniverse version of wikipedia. The braclet strikes me as something that elves would want to kep to themselves given the whole sordid rape and ride history associated with it. On the otherhand this is a university and Jamie could probably find an enchantment major who would just love to write a paper on a little known artifact...like Mack :)
