Also, curious question: As you declared MoreMU #85 being the one for Monday, 9th, will you just "skip" the missed updates from Thursday and Friday last week?
Thanks for the catch. And yes. I was off from the beginning on last week's schedule. Best thing to do is to start clean... I can't write much more in a week than I'm aiming for, so it'd just mess up this one.
And anybody (not necessarily you, there was some griping on the previous update about this) who isn't happy or thinks I need to feel guilty or whatever... well, you know, I'm not so great at the multitasking. I can feel guilty or I can write. :) I just hope the people who think I should be able to stick to a schedule if I want readers to support my writing are prepared to step up when I do.
I'm not sure whether this is a typo or something in the way Pala phrased things, but it seems to me the word "me" got dropped out of that part of the sentence.
Likely my favourite chapter of MoarMU, aside from the first chapter, in which we meet Jamie and I didn't want to punch him in the face for being an idiot. Pala is a very appealing individual, I think. I'm glad we've been seeing more of her, although it wouldn't be hard to miss her, considering she is so bloody tall.
Marlot = awesome. I love her sarcasm and no, there is no such thing as a target being too easy, Jamie.
I'm really really looking forward to the match... I dreamed I was on a skirmish team on friday night and got up all like "Ooo! Ooo! I wonder if skirmish is posted!" ... also with a terrible pain in my back, but the other team's captain had way too many enchantments on his armor if you ask me! /goes back to waiting E
Oh, yes, next chapter will be getting down to it and while I don't know if I'll spend as long on it as I did the gladiator fights in Original Recipe MU (because all the players we care about are going to be on the field at once, among other reasons), it's going to get the spotlight for a while here.
Marlot knows that Pala is having difficulty getting her head around the surface world. Not only is Marlot in danger of foisting some major misconceptions on her, with Pala's background and disposition, she could end up doing someone a mischief as a result.
Remember the opening scenes of The Fisher King?
Jack Lucas, deadpan ironic radio host: "I told you about these people [yuppies]. They're evil, Edwin. They must be stopped. You should consider it your duty to kill as many of them as possible."
There's also the fact that Marlot's offhand banter about being 'shifty' almost got Jaime's block knocked off, it was only Pala's confusion over how to punch someone as high as she can when that someone is Smaller than she is that kept her fist from intersecting his face.
It is clear that she is a tiny giant. Her father did name herself after the spear, which is likely an heirloom. The spear goes to the strongest relative, not the closest. She literally does have less brains than her relatives, she is much smaller.
Pala's certainly managing to accidentally get some digs in on Marlot for her limp, despite her naive, waif-ish ways. Hopefully, Jamie survives the night.
She'll be with them for the match story and probably occasionally after that. I like writing her, but she doesn't really fit with the other cast as well as with this one.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you're right. :P I had it down that Marlot hadn't been present when she met Barley and Violet at the dragon display; I totally didn't account for the fact that Jamie caught up to the two of them while they were both hanging with the dwarves.

Edwin, of course, does just that.

marlot introduction?
Why did Jamie introduce Pala and Margot when the two girls had already had a conversation a few chapters ago?February 10 2009, 06:32:03 UTC 3 years ago

Pala and Age
Pala comes off, to me at least, as a naive nine year old.February 17 2009, 05:38:28 UTC 3 years ago
Hallbjörn is Icelandic for
"Rock" (hallr) and "bear" (björn)
Some abstract concepts
Regarding sex are simply
Beyond the Pala
Either that "spear" can
Change size to match its owner
Or it's not a spear
