I envy Ian, as he come to terms with the violence he associates with sex. I've never been able to do so myself. I can't even smack an ass appropriately, and of course I don't have an invulnerable girlfriend.
I'm thinkin' "longed" was intended to be "looked".
For me personally this chapter wasn't all that great. It was good, don't get me wrong, but nothing amazing. I'm just not one who gets off on violence. It doesn't bother me, but it doesn't really do anything for me either. That's alright though. I still enjoyed the chapter, and I'm glad there are folks who really love these kinds of chapters when you put them out. Much as I tend to focus most of my comments on these "typo reports", I honestly wouldn't tell you to change your writing style for anything. I love your work, even the chapters that make me squirm with discomfort. You are my absolute favorite online author, and quite possibly my favorite author period. You rule! =)
I read your blog post on what's been going on with your health situation. Thanks for linking it from this chapter. I might never have found out about it otherwise. The LJ story feed is my mainline to your worlds. I don't really do blogs and Twitter and such. I'm glad to know you're taking steps to manage the stress in your life. Stress is a killer, and I want you around for a long, long time to come. ^_^ LOL! We love ya AE! Whatever you have to do for you, we're all behind you. :)
Not a bad chapter, but honestly I really liked the scenes where Mack is getting bitten by Fiji, or ravished by Steff, and the three-some with Ian and Amaranth was, IMHO, much hotter than this one. The scene where Sooni was stomping on Mack was, strangely, more erotic than this one to me. I think it had to do with the description of the emotional build up Mack experienced the beating Sooni administered to her in the lounge. But I have high hopes this chapter was just an appetizer to the main course.
I suppose I just don't have any erotic connection with getting a beat down. Just doesn't turn me on. But that's one of the things I think I love about this story, it's got something for everybody.
I have never and probably will never read this story for the sex. That said, this was my favorite chapter in a long time. Mackenzie noticed things, getting outside her own head in the process, and in so doing there was a lot of description and evocative imagery that isn't there usually.
