I am fairly sure this would be difficult for you, given your comments, but I will suggest it anyway. It would be nice to have a link to the story or stories around the diary entries. I do not always recall where they were and I enjoy reading them side by side.
It's really precious to watch Two as she "spreads her wings" in the past and the present. I agree that Mackenzie definitely seems to be the little sister in some ways, especially as seen through Two's point of view.

I would rather say they are BOTH the little sister of each other. Because let's face it, Two, our adorable Two, while being amazing, can also be rather childish herself.
Hm, I'd say both could be applied equally. I mean, sometimes Two's or Mack's stubborn insistence on something does seem beyond childlike, and more childish. ;) While I love Two dearly, I always found that readers judged her far less harshly than Mack for very similar kinds of behaviour, maybe because Two seems childlike while Mack seems to act more like a teenager.
